Privacy Policy for Sow Now
Sow Now (the App) is provided by Enginix Ltd ("we", "us" and "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it.
Summary
Sow Now is designed to work locally on your device. We do not require an account, do not show advertising, do not sell personal information, and do not send your garden records or analytics events to our servers.
Information stored on your device
The App stores the following information locally on your device so its features work:
- Your garden name, planting records, sowing or planting dates, harvest dates and optional harvest-yield notes.
- Your notification preferences.
- A limited, anonymous in-app event log. This records actions such as opening the App, viewing or searching for a plant, adding a plant, harvesting a crop, changing notification preferences and opening a notification. Events contain the event name, a timestamp and, where needed, a plant identifier or activity type. The log is capped at 500 events.
This information is not linked to your name, email address, account or advertising identifier because the App does not collect those details.
Notifications and device information
If you enable reminders, the App asks for notification permission from your device. It uses your device's current timezone locally to schedule:
- A reminder when a recorded crop may be approaching its estimated harvest period.
- An optional reminder at the beginning of a new planting month.
You can turn either reminder off in Settings or revoke notification permission in your device settings. Sow Now does not collect precise location data, contacts, photos, microphone data, camera data or browsing history.
How we use information
We use the locally stored information only to provide the App's features, including displaying your garden, estimating harvest periods, scheduling reminders and improving a future version of the App using the anonymous local event log.
Sharing and selling
We do not share, sell, rent or disclose your garden records, notification preferences or anonymous event log to third parties. The App does not use advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking or third-party analytics services.
Data retention and deletion
Your garden records remain on your device until you delete them in the App or remove the App. Harvested records are retained locally in your harvest history until the App is removed. You can disable reminders at any time in Settings.
If you want to remove all locally stored App data, delete the App from your device. Your operating system or backup provider may retain backups independently under its own policies.
Security
We rely on the security controls provided by your device and operating system to protect data stored by the App. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, so please keep your device protected.
Children's privacy
Sow Now is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International transfers
Because the App does not transmit your garden data or anonymous event log to our servers, we do not make international transfers of that information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the App's data practices change. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when we do.
